Overview
Blood Bank Hub was born from The Software Tailors' experience in the development of software medical devices for blood banking.
It is a web application that allows blood banks to manage donors and donors' appointments, send messages to donors, manage the inventory of collected units, and share units with other blood banks belonging to the hub.
It was designed and developed by The Software Tailors, and therefore it was conceived since its inception to be completely customizable in order to suit each organization's unique needs like a comfortable, elegant, and extremely functional garment.
The application is available as software as a service based on a subscription.
Software as a service comes with numerous benefits:
- The customer does not have to purchase any server or other kind of hardware
- The customer does not have to purchase any software license
- The customer does not have so sustain the costs related to the initial setup and configuration of the application
- The customer immediately benefits from updates as soon as they are released
- The customer can access the application from any device that is connected to the Internet

Dashboard
The main page of Blood Bank Hub includes a dashboard using employing visualization to provide the following information about the inventory of collected units at a glance:
- The number of collected units grouped by blood type
- The number of collected units grouped by product type (such as cryoprecipitate, plasma, platelets, red blood cells, whole blood)
- The number of collected units grouped by status (expired, expiring soon, in stock, issued, returned, used)
Donors, appointments, and messages
Blood Bank Hub allows to manage the blood banks' donors and optimize the relationship with them by scheduling their appointments – multiple facilities are supported for each blood bank – and by sending messages to the donors via email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
Inventory
The inventory management feature of Blood Bank Hub allows to keep track of the units of blood components (such as cryoprecipitate, plasma, platelets, red blood cells, whole blood), their expiration, and their status (expired, expiring soon, in stock, issued, returned, used).
Hub
The hub inventory allows to search all the units available in all the inventories of all the blood banks belonging to the hub. If one blood bank needs a unit of a blood component of a specific blood type that is available at another blood bank, it can issue an outgoing request. The blood bank that owns the requested unit will be notified of the incoming request and be able to proceed to organize the shipment of the unit.
Data management
Blood Bank Hub organizes data in grid views for a streamlined user interface and user experience.
The grid views allow to easily filter, group, sort, and export data to Microsoft Excel.
